Tuesday October 24, RRR was called out by the State Veterinary Department regarding a cruelty case involving a huge number of equines in Haywood County.
The rescue was a massive undertaking for us as RRR TOOK IN 38 APPALOOSAS, ARABIANS, CROSSES, AND A FEW PONIES FROM THE PROPERTY WHERE ALL WERE BEING HELD IN DEPLORABLE CONDITIONS.
It is devastating to see the effects of horse ownership that results in such cruelty and neglect; and in cases like these, it's rarely the first time horses have been removed from the owners.
We'd like to thank the HAYWOOD COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT for their assistance as we evacuated and transported the horses to a quarantine property. We'd also like to thank CLINTON NEAL AND THE HAYWOOD COUNTY FARM for their assistance. As well as KATHY MOORE, STATE VETERINARY TECHNICIAN for her efforts in making this rescue possible.
As difficult as rescues like these are to see, WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We will desperately need hay, grain, shavings, and MONEY to help with their rehabilitation and extensive veterinary care!!!
